How the UQ GPA estimate works
This calculator converts each grade to grade points using the scale you select, weights each course by its credit points, and averages the result. Because GPA rules are set by each university — and can differ by course — the scale here is configurable and clearly labelled as an example until it is matched against the university's published rules.
Formula
GPA = Σ (grade points × credit points) ÷ Σ (credit points)
Example calculation
On the example 7-point scale: HD (7) in a 6-credit course, D (6) in a 6-credit course and C (5) in a 12-credit course gives (42 + 36 + 60) ÷ 24 = 5.75. Press Load example above to reproduce it.
Important considerations
The University of Queensland sets its own grade points and rules — including how fails and ungraded courses count — and these can change. AussieGrade does not present this estimate as the university's official method. Verify your official GPA on your student record and the university's published academic information.
