How AussieGrade works

Enter your marks and credit points, choose the grading scale that best matches your university, and get an instant result with a full breakdown. Because Australian universities set their own grading scales, WAM formulas and fail-grade rules, every calculator here is configurable — and every result comes with a reminder to check your official student record.

Your calculations are performed in your browser and are not sent to our server. Nothing you type is stored or tracked.

Frequently asked questions

What is a WAM?
A WAM (Weighted Average Mark) is the average of your subject marks, weighted by each subject's credit points: WAM = sum of (mark x credit points) divided by total credit points. Methods can vary by university and course — some exclude certain grades or weight later years more heavily.
What is a GPA in Australia?
A GPA (Grade Point Average) converts your grades to grade points and averages them, weighted by credit points. The most common Australian framework is a 7-point scale (HD = 7, D = 6, C = 5, P = 4, Fail = 0), but each university sets its own points and rules.
Is there one Australian GPA scale?
No. Australian universities use different grading scales and GPA rules. AussieGrade provides configurable, clearly labelled example scales — always verify your official result with your university.
